The Elisa Lam Case – What are they Hiding?
Now that we’ve established that the clip has been edited, I want to move onto my next bit of speculation. I want you to look at around 2:25 in the original video. These are the very last moments which she can be seen in the video. At first it looks like she just stumbles away, but if you look closely you could see it differently:
She moves her hand onto her head, or her ear (can’t see the left-side of her body so we can’t tell). Imagine if someone was pulling you by the ear or the hair – this would probably be your reaction. Now as she stumbles away, look at her left foot. She is actually pivoting on it. If someone were pulling you by the ear or the hair, you would probably pivot in a very similar fashion. This opens up the possibility that there was someone, right outside the elevator, pulling her away. This also occurs suspiciously close to the time at which the clip is edited.
Of course there are some things about the “pull-away” theory that don’t make sense at first. Namely this:
If someone is to the left of her, why is she pleading towards the right just a little while earlier in the clip?
In my eyes, there are two possibilities to this:
- There are two murderers. One to the left of the elevator, and one to the right. This makes the incredible feat of getting her body all the way up that water tank more realistic.
- She is under the influence of drugs. According to the police, her behavior was consistent with that of someone on ecstasy. While the initial tests on her body were inconclusive, the toxicology results will be in within weeks. These will say for certain whether or not she was on the influence of drugs. If she was under the influence, there is a possibility that she was drugged unwillingly. Disoriented, she could be pleading towards hallucinations – which is why the murderer would then pull her so that they can get a move on.
This case is definitely one of the weirder ones in recent memory. It does not help that the short footage provided to us is edited. Who knows what was going on just 5 minutes before the beginning of the footage; I have a strong feeling that, with more complete and unedited footage, we would be able to solve the mystery of this case.
Well, I’ve explained my “theories”, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on them. Maybe my theories are flawed, maybe you agree, or maybe you have another theory entirely. Of course I am also open to the possibility that she is just crazy and killed herself – but that wouldn’t have made an interesting read right?
If you’re done with the spookiness and need to relax, try Totoro – it will take your mind off of this, trust me.
